Kiara Quall is a Quallian war-commander whose life becomes defined by two converging forces: her vendetta against Danje (and its war-icon, Akima Ciberling) and the parasitic influence of a Shard of Jethro—the corruption-state that expresses outwardly as Bloodtiger.
At a glance
- Name: Kiara Quall
- Species: Quallian
- Core rivalry: Kiara ↔ Akima Ciberling
- Key infection event: Esther Assault on Quall (Shard exposure begins / escalates)
- Signature tension: command discipline vs. predation override (Jethro pressure)
Overview
Kiara is introduced (chronologically) as a disciplined Quallian leader shaped by a long Quall - Danje feud: pragmatic, strategic, and willing to gamble lives on a narrow window of advantage. That exterior can read “cold” at a distance, but it’s largely containment—Kiara is widely regarded at home as generous, kind, and deeply loyal to her people, and she hates unnecessary loss of life even when she accepts that war will demand sacrifice.
In the “clean” version of Kiara, violence is purposeful—a lever pulled to end a war, not a desire. That self-image erodes after her exposure to Jethro‘s influence on Quall, where power begins to act with appetite attached.
By the time Kiara collides with Forza Ninetails in the wreckage sequence, she reads less like a commander with a plan and more like a hunter driven by compulsion - still coherent, still articulate, but with the unmistakable undertow of something living behind her eyes. In 🟩 RSR - Bloodtiger, Kiara serves as one of the primary antagonists within Forza’s POV arc, operating in sustained Bloodtiger while under the influence of a Shard of Jethro. After Part 1 (in Part 2 and onward), Kiara is intended to shift into one of the primary protagonists. This is the story’s core Kiara paradox: competence remains, but agency degrades.
Physical characteristics
- Species / build: female Quallian (liger)
- Eyes: green
- Hair: long blonde hair, often braided
Personality & character
Kiara’s baseline personality is high-control: she speaks and moves like someone used to command rooms, command ships, and command outcomes. Even when she is emotionally charged, her instincts are to calculate first—time windows, risk tradeoffs, target value, extraction feasibility.
Under Shard pressure, that control reframes itself as predation discipline. The same steadiness that once made her a commander becomes a terrifying calm: the ability to commit cruelty without shaking, to choose violence and believe it is justified, and to treat other beings as objects in a private ritual rather than actors with their own lives.
Combat profile (reader-facing)
Kiara is framed as:
- a dangerous close-quarters combatant (strong, fast, technically skilled), and
- a Templar-capable threat sorceress (only after she becomes a Bloodtiger) whose power expresses as “wrongness” in the air—an energy signature that reads like corruption rather than ordinary magic.
Her “Bloodtiger” presentation is less about raw strength and more about override behavior: domination language, hunger-state fixation, and the sense that the fight is not merely to win but to consume with her current pray vision fixed on Forza Ninetails.
Timeline / key appearances (rev3.1 anchor points)
The Quallian Assault on Arken (9.10.40)
During Quallian Assault on Arken, Kiara leads a high-risk strike intended to destabilize Danje’s leadership by capturing royalty before Danje’s broader forces can respond. Krieg Ciberling’s attempted negotiation (“I’ll give you Akima”) forces a strategic fork; Kiara splits ground forces, gambling that the prize is worth the risk.
The operation collapses when Krieg is found dead and a shuttle escapes. Kiara’s retaliatory bombardment is framed as her greatest lifelong regret—an act meant to be surgical that becomes far larger in consequence, and one that shocks Quall precisely because it runs against her reputation for restraint and care. (Primary text: BT - Chapter 4)
The Esther Assault on Quall (9.15.40)
In Esther Assault on Quall, Kiara is nearly killed during the Sun Jin strike—knocked from a shuttle in open air as the Esther annihilates the settlement. She is intercepted mid-fall by Flarion, and the rescue is paired with infection: Kiara becomes host to a Shard of Jethro, starting her trajectory into the Bloodtiger condition. (Primary text: BT - Chapter 5)
The wreck / Forza encounter (0041-02-28)
Kiara’s on-page “Bloodtiger” presence is clearest across the wreckage sequence. She ambushes the recon team, kills Chambers and Rafaya, then engages Forza Ninetails in a fight that is simultaneously martial and metaphysical: both recognize the same underlying darkness, and Kiara explicitly names Jethro as the source.
This encounter establishes:
- Kiara’s sustained dominance case (Jethro pressure appears continuous), and
- Forza’s episodic containment case (resistance exists, but is fragile).
(Primary text: BT - Chapter 2, BT - Chapter 3)
The Shard of Jethro → Bloodtiger framing (what Kiara represents)
Kiara is the clearest example (in current rev3.1 framing) of the Shard pipeline:
- Vector: Shard of Jethro (infection / will-in-host)
- Presentation: Bloodtiger (override, hunger, domination, violence-ritual language)
Where Forza demonstrates “containment and relapse,” Kiara demonstrates “occupation”: an identity bent around the shard until it reads like the default.
Spoilers:
The other tab contains spoilers about Kiara’s lineage, though it is outright revealed at the end of Act 1 of 🟩 RSR - Bloodtiger so if you’ve made it to the first time the POV shifts to Rio Narro then you already know that’s in here.
Additionally her ‘special weapon’ is detailed in another tab.
Kiara’s mother is Majora and her father is Flarion. This is not something the reader has to piece together - it’s outright told to Forza by Flarion in BT - Chapter 9.
What this means for Kiara
Kiara’s “Bloodtiger” story is not only a wartime infection arc—it’s a continuation of an older, myth-scale host ecology: how Jethro pressure can be buffered for long spans and then snap catastrophically when the emotional climate changes.
Relationship to Majora (mother)
In the deep-history framing, Majora is defined less by politics and more by stability: her companionship acts as an attachment-buffer that helps keep Flarion functional while he carries “true Jethro.” Over long epochs, that same proximity also places Majora under continuous tiny amounts of buildup of pressure from Jethro over several years. Where Forza and Kiara snapped instantly when infected by a Shard of Jethro, Jethro could only infect Majora slowly due to being suppressed. When the time was right, Jethro would make Majora snap.
Relationship to Flarion (father)
Flarion’s relationship to Kiara is defined by contradiction: protector and vector. He is the myth-layer figure whose “contained” darkness still reshapes everything around him. This matters because Kiara’s later Shard infection (modern era) is not random horror—it echoes a lineage that already sits near the center of the Jethro problem.
First Battle of Eveny (Majora): how Majora becomes corrupted
The First Battle of Eveny (Majora) is the clearest on-record example of what shard-pressure can do after a long stable period.
- Majora’s decline: after an extended era of stability, she begins experiencing panic attacks, paranoia, and delusion—interpreted as shard-driven pressure finally breaking containment.
- Trigger belief: Majora becomes convinced the Neverborn Templar intend to kill or take her newborn daughter, Kiara, as a containment measure, believing that the daughter of Flarion (the current host of Jethro) would be too dangerous.
- The assault: Majora independently attacks Eveny, forcing the Neverborn into open defense.
- Containment outcome: Rainru is deployed for the first time, used as a containment-tier failsafe to seal Majora away.
- Fallout: the event is framed as a turning point that destabilizes Flarion emotionally—his anchor becomes the threat—and it establishes Kiara’s infancy as a pressure point inside the myth-scale arc. Before the battle, Majora leaves Kiara at her own home world, Quall, left in the protection of the royal family there who raise Kiara as their adopted daughter.
Aftermath — Rainru custody
After the Rainru is used to cut the Shard of Jethro infection out of both Kiara and Forza Ninetails, the story does not snap back to “normal.” For reasons that elude them, even when Forza is no longer under the influence of Jethro, it is noted that he still cannot wield the Rainru without sustaining severe pain, and mental strain, and so he gives the Rainru to Kiara believing it would be what Flarion wanted. More importantly, the Neverborn Templar (with Bezekira’s consent) let her keep it. The Rainru becomes Kiara’s primary blade: a relic containment sword carried by someone who has personally survived Jethro occupation, and who now has to live with the responsibility of holding a “break glass” artifact that can never be allowed to fall into the wrong hands.
